The objective of CYO athletics is to be well organized, uniform in philosophy, properly supervised and provide opportunities for the youth of Northwest Indiana to develop physical fitness, self-discipline, mental alertness, and an attitude of good sportsmanship based upon Catholic principles of fair play and cooperation.

Athletics are seen as one way of implementing the mission of the CYO.
